Staff

All instructors are not created equal. Unfortunately, “Flight Instructor” is a title found on the résumés of most commercial airline pilots. Their right-seat time in trainers no doubt made them better pilots, but for most, their goal was to build time, not to build pilots. At FlyCarolina, our instructors average 55 years of age and more than 3,000 hours of flight experience. These men and women are more than qualified for airline service, but have a passion for teaching.

As a FlyCarolina student, you benefit from the life and flying experience of our veteran instructors, something “time-building” instructors can’t offer. Plus, the maturity and tenure of our flight instructors means you can start and finish your training with the same instructor, which provides a level of comfort many students enjoy. You’ve got plenty to learn, why should you have to “learn” a new instructor every few months? At the same time, we encourage our students to grab a few hours with a different instructor from time to time. Each offers unique perspectives, and sometimes a fresh set of tips and techniques is just what you’ll need to master a particular flying task. Flying and flight instructing are as much art as science, and no two artists paint them quite the same.

Any of the FlyCarolina flight instructors can teach at any of our locations (or at your home airport if you have your own plane), but to maximize their efficiency, they train primarily out one of three training bases.
