flying club
Started in 1996, FlyCarolina has grown to become the largest private flying club in the Carolinas, and possibly the nation. And, while it has become cliché in the marketing business, we truly are the biggest because we’re the best. Over 200 pilot-members agree. Our “Red Carpet” service means your aircraft will be cleaned, serviced, fueled and waiting for you on the ramp. Call ahead and the FBO line operators will even pull it up to the front door of the terminal, if you prefer, and pre-heat the engine in winter. The only thing our Red Carpet service doesn't provide is the red carpet. In addition, with online scheduling and self-checkout/check-in, flying with FlyCarolina couldn't get any easier.
Our club membership is comprised of experienced, discriminating pilots who seek a higher level of aircraft quality than what is available at most general aviation FBOs and flight schools in the region. Stop by for a visit and let us show you why the FlyCarolina Flying Club is the absolute best alternative to the incredible costs of private aircraft ownership.

Diversity
FlyCarolina offers a very diverse fleet of aircraft for nearly every mission purpose, from the 2-seat Symphony to three twin-engine cross-country haulers. Photos and specifications of each of our aircraft are included below.
Maintenance
With six full-time A&P mechanics, FlyCarolina’s attention to aircraft maintenance is second to none. While all aircraft are prone to frequent squawks—even brand new ones—our in-house maintenance facilities at Monroe and Gastonia ensure our aircraft are quickly returned to service. There is nothing more frustrating than a rental agency whose planes spend more of their time in the shop than on the flight line.
Safety
Our aggressive, preventative maintenance program also ensures that club aircraft are maintained to the highest levels of safety and reliability. By staying ahead of aircraft maintenance issues, and by making repairs at the absolute first sign of wear or component failure, our level of safety is dramatically increased and our maintenance costs are significantly reduced. For members’ convenience and peace of mind, aircraft maintenance records, squawk histories, and weight and balance calculators are available to members via our club web server, as are the pilot operating handbooks (POHs) for each aircraft.
Technology
Our cost-effective in-house aircraft maintenance means we are able to provide even more value in club membership. And, the money we save on maintenance goes right back into continuously improving and modernizing our aircraft—which are already equipped with some of the most technologically advanced avionics, accessories and flight management tools available in the general aviation market today. Most club aircraft are IFR-equipped and certified, with moving map GPS, HSI, autopilot, and stormscopes. Our PA30 Twin Comanche and PA23 Aztec sport completely redesigned cockpits and glare shields that include a laser-cut aluminum panels filled with the latest in high technology avionics and instrumentation.
Appearance
Finally, as you'll notice when you visit, we take a great deal of pride in the appearance of our aircraft. Aircraft cleaning specialists professionally maintain the exteriors and interiors on a regularly scheduled basis. Although often overlooked by other aircraft providers, you'll appreciate the difference of flying a clean, well kept aircraft.
